IBikeLondon Nautical Ride – 4th May 2013
Deckhand to port side for the Nautical Ride!
All landlubbers wanting to embark on our Nautical ride should meet at 10:30AM at Victoria Park (in front of the Royal Inn on the Park pub, postcode: E9 7JH); the ride will commence at 11:00AM (please be as prompt as possible). The ride will traverse 19 miles of beautiful London streetscapes, canals and docklands, ending at the iconic Brick Lane. The journey will be mostly flat and car free for most of the way making it suitable for riders of all levels.
After departing Victoria Park the ride will pass through the Olympic site along a car free, green route toward the Beckton/North Woolwich dockland area. The group will cross the Thames by boarding the Woolwich Ferry; only a short 5 minute trip for those who get sea sick. Once on the south side of the river the route will continue along the Thames pathway, a car free cycle path. The Thames pathway will take the ride past the Millennium Dome and the Cutty Sark culminating at the stunning Tower Bridge. After crossing the bridge the ride will head north to the endpoint, Brick Lane. As is customary on an IBikeLondon ride all riders are welcome to join the IBikeLondon team at the pub (Vibe Bar, 91-95 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL).
An added bonus of joining the Nautical Ride is that all riders have the opportunity to discount tickets to the Spin London urban cycle show; http://spinldn.com/. The tickets, normally £10, can be purchased in advance from the IBikeLondon team for £5. If you’re interested contact us.
